USACE Carlise Barracks Farmhouse Historical Structural Rehabilitation

This historic Farmhouse design-build renovation consisted of bringing the Carlisle Barracks Building 839 structure and utilities to a safe and usable point. The interior scope consisted of making the Farmhouse structurally sound involving a change of use from residential to business load ratings, selective demolition, repair, reinforcement and re-installing the interior grand spiral staircase and lead abatement. The exterior renovation included finish carpentry, historic window rehabilitation, repairing various foundation settlement and cracking issues, repointing brick mortar on the entire exterior of the house, repairing exterior brick walls and failing mortar joints, installing new incoming wet and dry utilities (Water, Telecom & Electrical). Additional work included construction of a connecting doorway between two units, construction of a dehumidification system, demolition and replacement of the rear deck, relocation of radon exhaust, and lighting protection.
